You hurt yourself how?

05 Feb

So it all started one beautiful Sunday morning. 🙂

We were all trying to help and make the foundation holes larger.  This required us actually getting into the 2 meter deep holes.  (I’ll try and take some pictures of them if I can)  2 meters is about 6 ft 6 inches.  So when I say we were in the holes we were in the holes.

Anyway, I was digging in a hole next to one of the boys that stays out here, who happens to be only about 5’5 or so, and he finished his hole before I did.  Well he wants to climb out so he tosses his shovel out of the hole.  Okay, he tosses/shot-puts it out of his hole and into mine.  The only problem being that I was still in the hole!!! lol

The shovel nailed me in my lower back around my right tail-bone.  You know that spot where it’s supposed to be funny if you get hit there, but it’s not really funny when you get hit there, but you are laughing anyway just so people won’t see you cry?  Yeah…right there

It’s been three days since and at least I can walk without pain now. 🙂  Bending over on the other hand…I’m still working on that.

Ouch! Did the metal or handle hit you? See, if you still practiced taekwondo or muy thai you wouldve discerned the subtle changes around you and probably wouldve heard the shovel as it made vibrations in the air as it came out of his hole. Those vibrations would be disturbing of the natural air currents and you wouldve looked up and seen it coming down and had the necessary reflexes and accuracy to kick straight up at a spot on the shovel that would send it directly up into the air and as it came back directly down into your hole you wouldve caught it at mid-handle while looking up at the people who surrounded your hole to see what made the shovel that flew in come flying out with such amazing speed yet so gracefully…..

    but alas….

Hope your had some ice nearby or at least special thai herbs. Youre one tough cookie Dr. Jones!

yes, i guess it could have been very serious. but God has seemed to have been protecting us from all sorts of things since we have been here. scorpions, snakes, dengue, malaria, etc. just keep the prayers flowing on our behalf.
